We begin Sunday afternoon at St Pancras station catching the Eurostar train to Paris. Once there we head with baggage to Sacré-Cœur Basilica, a Roman Catholic church where Bobet can hear Mass on her birthday. We then head for our hotel. After a quick change of clothes, Bobet and I head for the Moulin Rouge, a cabaret-dancehall complete with a bottle of Champagne.

On Monday we celebrate Julia's 11th birthday with lunch at the first floor of the Eiffel Tower overlooking the river Seine, with sightseeing at the 2nd floor. In the afternoon we head for the Louvre museum and the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. In the evening we go on an organised night bus tour catching most of the obvious sights of Paris.

Tuesday we begin with Notre Dame cathedral, where we take a walk around and again here Mass. Later we head for the Arc de Triomphe monument before walking down the famous Champs-Élysées.

Our last morning in Paris we spend on a river boat cruise on the river Seine, starting at the Eiffel Tower and extending past Notre Dame cathedral and back.

We then take the afternoon train to Brussels, check into our hotel and head for the Grand Place, the central square of Brussels. While there we have waffles and coffee before having strawberries dipped in a chocolate fountain. Later we see St. Michael and St. Gudula Cathedral, and Brussels famous landmark the Manneken Pis (bronze fountain sculpture depicting a naked boy urinating), before sampling some of Belgium's beers.
